Interoperability is key in the digital ship, enabling the seamless integration of all systems deployed onboard and ashore. This includes the use of asymmetric forces such as unmanned vehicles (UxVs), and takes into account technical, physical, and operational constraints. Moreover, interoperability with external assets in joint missions with international or multi-domain naval forces is an essential capability, ensuring controlled access to information.

Navantia supports this capability by defining common connectivity standards—within the ship, with UxVs, and among all mission-participating assets. Interoperability facilitates collaboration and coordination between different systems and assets, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of naval operations.
